New directions ( Sunshine Coast Boutique Portraiture)

I have had a lot of soul searching over the last few months over the portraits section of my business.

I have found so many woman who have been unhappy with the way they look, especially mums, which makes me so sad. I love to photograph families in a natural way in order to get beautiful expressions and emotion from the photographs. Candid style of photography is emotive but is not the most flattering of styles and because of this I have found so many woman sad about the way they look. .So I have been searching for a way I can make woman, mums, grandmum’s and all woman feel beautiful and special.

Which lead me to Sue Bryce a beautiful portrait photographer who is now in Sydney but has her studio in New Zealand. She has become the expert in beautiful glamourous  portrait photography for the real woman.

I emailed her in and effort to have some mentoring for this style of photography. I went to Sydney this weekend to spend time with her and some beautiful real girls in order to show and teach me how to do this style of photography. This has been quite changing for me and made me do some soul searching about my business.

I have made the decision to no longer offer family photography , newborn and children’s photography as I do it now.. I have decided to stream line my business and do what I love and in the process make woman feel beautiful.

I want to photograph the relationships between mothers and daughters, relationships between couples and also the relationship of a woman with herself, her girl friends or anybody she feel close to.I want to make woman feel beautiful and look beautiful.

So stayed tuned for some amazing photographs from beautiful everyday woman. Isn’t it time we celebrated each other!!

What images tell your story ( Robeccer McLean-Sunshine Coast Wedding and Portrait photographer)

The photos people choose to display are insights into who they really are and what stories make up their life.  What makes someone choose a photo for their wall of them sitting playing chess with their father on their wedding day rather than the greatest sporting achievements or accolades of the past?  Photos that make it up onto your wall, onto your desk, or into a coffee table book are those that are deeply rooted in who you are as a person or a couple.  They speak to your core – your identity.

Now any photo can help you do this; that is why we love photos so much, they transform us.  The true test of art is that regardless of the time of day you look at it or the mood you are in, it tells you a story that helps you make sense out of what has happened in the past and the kind of person you are now.  It is not essential that the story you tell yourself be perfectly true, but it is important that these images allow you to remember, to explore and to dream of what could be.

The images you surround yourself with are a portal to your core.  It is these images that will tell your story long after you are gone.

The question you have to ask is, Will just any old photographer do in telling you who you really are? Help me get lost in you.  Let me tell your story of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Written by Adori Studios for you but inspired by the thoughts and writings of Sam Gosling, PhD.

Here is one of my Iconic images, it reminds me of how far I have come as a person and photographer and of how quickly times flies. I have to stop and just be present in the moment, before I know it my baby will be a man! This photo was taken 3 years ago.

Taylah and Xavier ( Canberra Children’s photography)

Today I had the privilege to photograph Taylah and Xavier, I photographed them and their parents 2 years ago and today again as a special present for their aunt.
Its amazing to see how much they grow and change in just 2 years, now they are such little people with outgoing amazing personalities.
We had so much fun exploring rural Canberra with the abundance of Kangaroo’s and Emu’s running around plus a few cows!!
Aren’t they so beautiful and isn’t Canberra looking amazing at the moment?

I Love this site “Pink Frosting”. They have some great inspiration for weddings and have a sister site called “Australia Entertains”, I came across this amazing cake from “Polka Dot Cookies and Cakes” In Sydney

This Poppy Cake is a masterpiece in itself.

They also make place card cookies. What a fabulous quirky idea for your wedding favors or bomboniere.

For all you brides betting married in the next 2 months in Canberra, what could be more appropriate then a Cherry Blossom theme, especially if you are getting married in Nara Garden’s.

Here is a cake and table setting by Amy Atlas Events in New York.

In Canberra I seem to photograph heaps of weddings whom have had Cakes of your Dreams make their cakes, they have such endless inspiration when it comes to their cakes, with their funky couple cakes proving to be very popular. Also The Cherry Seed at gold Creek who make the most divine cupcakes.
Here are a few gorgeous cakes that I have photographed;
