Shanika and Paul – Old Parliament House Canberra ( Robeccer McLean Wedding photographer)

Have I ever told you how lucky I am?

Well I am… Very lucky… Very lucky to be able to share such an amazing day with such an amazing couple!

Shanika and Paul are such an amzing couple.. I feel so blessed to attract the sort of couples I work with . To me though this is not work, this is a blessing…may sound cheesy but this is how I feel!

Its so true when I say couples come to me as clients and leave as good friends, especially when I get to spend so much time with them as I have with Shanika and Paul. Masha and I were with them for 12 hours yesterday, I came home utterly exhausted but so happy!

Not only is this couple extremely smart, both being Lawyers but also so creative. They designed and made everything themselves, going to so much effort to make sure no stone was left unturned.

This wedding was a merger of 2 cultures, with Shanika being Sri-Lankan and Paul being Polish. The wedding was full of both traditions, with Sri-Lankan Dancers and drummers, shots of vodka , bread and salt and a great Aussie band. It is so wonderful to watch how cultures merge so easily and with so much love and acceptance of each others traditions and cultures.

So here are the photos from Shanika and Paul’s cross culture wedding extravagansa!!

One word to sum up their wedding, “Joyous”

Flowers; Poetry in Flowers

Cake:  Amelias cakes

Venue: old Parliament house

Catering by Ginger Catering

Ceremony: St Andrews in Forest

Shanikas’ Sari: Picked and bought back from Sri-Lanka by Shanika’s dad… awww!

Hmm thanks Shanika for this one… hehehehe, this is what happens when one of your brides takes over your camera lol! Me being a dill as usual and Masha laughing at me!

Lauren and Jason’s CRAZY Station ( Sunshine Coast Photo Station)

What an absolute Hoot!

Masha and I set up The CRAZY Station at Lauren and Jason’s wedding  for the first time. The Funky Foto booth has been in the planing for 3 months and it ws great to finally get to try out all my crazy ideas on an actual function!

We brought the props ( some were from the venue) the lighting, the background system and off we went!

We didn’t have to wait very long for our first customers, as soon as they saw our collection of goodies people were they trying them on!

The thing with alot of functions is that people tend to miss out on photos if they are the quiet ones in the corner who don’t like to dance, except of course if you get those table shots of people standing saying cheese. Well not anymore, there was no wilting flowers at this party, even Jason’s grandparents got up and had a go which was so cool!

The crazy factor went from really sweet couple photos to really out of the box wild photos!

If your interested in having The CRAZY Station at your next function, then give me a call and I’ll fill you in with all the information!

Enjoy the photos!

Yep the bottom 2 are of Masha and Lauren and I giving the whole crazy idea a go!

Lauren and Jason 16th January 2010 ( Sunshine Coast Wedding photographer)

Well what can I say about these guys….I just know when I meet some of my couples that we have this instant connection. This connection grows over time with our dealings with each other untill the wedding day arrives and I feel this amazing kinship with them.

Jason and Lauren are one of these couples, from the minute I met them at the wedding expo last Febuary, I knew that the day was going to be amazing, magical, fun, beautiful, emotional…everything you could ask for in a wedding.

Jason and Lauren’s wedding was held at Duntroon Chapel, with one of Jasons good friends being the minister, both being teachers, there were little kidlets everywhere a great testiment to their skills and love for their jobs! Jason runs a men’s choir with the boys from Burgman, by men I mean a large group of little fellas from aged5 up to about 8 or so.

They sang their way through the whole ceremony, and not your usual church music.. they sang songs like..going to the chapel..black eyed peas and many more funky/rock songs! They were so gorge!

Lauren was walked down the aisle by her dad in full military uniform.

The Thunder and lighting came so we headed to The Hotel Realm for some funky photos and then headed back to Duntroon to the Officer’s mess for the amazing reception. The speeches were fabulous, funny, and emotional…some really great stories were told and I had fun learning even more about this great couple.

Masha and I then set up my latest edition to my business, The CRAZY Station. I brought a large suitcase full of props which I have sourced locally, interstate and as far as America to enable some really great different looks! Well didn’t the Photo booth go off, what a great edition to any function! No more boring photos of people sitting around, we had everyone up getting into it, even Jason’s grandparents had a go ( with loads of giggles)

So I won’t chat anymore I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!

Here is a really tradgic photo of me quickly joining in on the dance floor festivities!!

Thankyou both for making my job so easy, you, your friends and family made Masha and I feel so welcome , we had a blast!

Stay tuned for the next post…The Funky Foto Booth!!

Luv

Bec
